Growing up, Father Dan lived many places in the western U.S. and Europe with his parents and three younger brothers, and was active in Evangelical Protestant churches. After attending Wheaton College in Illinois, in 1997 he moved to Washington, D.C., and worked in graphic design, and soon was received into the Catholic Church. He spent six years at Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg and was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington in 2009.
Father Dan has previously served as a parochial vicar at St. Mary's of Piscataway, Clinton; St. Bartholomew, Bethesda; St. Martin of Tours, Gaithersburg; St. Bernadette, Silver Spring; and St. Raphael, Rockville; as well as briefly assisting in the Archdiocese’s Department of Special Needs Ministries. He has helped with Project Rachel (post-abortion healing) and loves helping people find spiritual healing and freedom, including through confession. He arrived at IHM in July 2020 and looks forward to the pandemic being behind us.
